This is a fantastic campground, particularly if you have young kids. Great places to bike ride, a couple of nearby trails to hike on, and lots of gorgeous scenery to take in. Wildflowers were fantastic this time of year: penstemon, Indian paintbrush, yarrow, larkspur, arnica, and many others. Both lakes are wonderful for paddle boarding or kayaking. The campground house was kind and checked in daily. Very happy that there were primitive bathrooms, trash services, and potable water on site-this made life much easier. Nice, shaded sites with decently levels areas for tent camping. Definitely pretty buggy depending on where you were and time of day so definitely bring bug spray. Fish in the lake seemed most active later in the evening but in some of the streams close by, they were also taking flies early in the morning. Absolutely will plan on coming back for a longer stay next year!

-AVOID ON WEEKENDS-
Site #9 is next to the public boat launch and becomes overloaded with vehicles trying to cram in, there are only 4 parking spots for the boat launch but many more constantly show up and block each other in & attempt to block the paid campsite parking spots. The camp host had to show up every 30m and make folks leave. Groups setup 10 yards from paid sites #9/#10 and treat it like a day use area. The off leash dogs running into our camp and hours of screaming children really ruin the relaxing mountain lake vibe. RV generators, dirt bikes, groups crammed into single sites, off leash dogs everywhere, partying, blaring music & people yelling for hours after 10pm quiet time.

Half the campground left Sunday morning, then it becomes a peaceful and very enjoyable place to be. Paddleboarding and catching brook trout every cast is hard to beat. Just do it on a weekday.

A public beach should be built to take Strain off of the launching ramp area.
