About Elk Creek Cabins

Elk Creek Cabins are open from November through April, offering a rustic retreat for winter sports enthusiasts. Guests must be prepared to snowmobile, snowshoe or ski at least 15 miles from the parking area to the cabin, and they are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety. These cabins offer a few amenities, but guests will need to bring some of their own equipment and supplies to make their stay comfortable.

Grooming on the Snomobile trails wasn’t good. We pull sleds with our gear in if the trails are rough , it makes it difficult. We enjoyed our stay in the cabin once we arrived.

Fish Cabin: Plenty of firewood but difficult to get cabin very warm. We could not get propane stoves to work in either this cabin or the Ranger cabin, so we cooked over the woodstove. Lots of clutter and junk on shelves and in cupboards. Visitors should be prepared for a rustic experience. That all being said, it's a neat spot.
