Our stay at Upper Payette Lake was great! Quiet campground, well maintained bathroom, beautiful view of the lake. Only thing I’d keep in mind is that the drinking water tasted very rusty. I would definitely recommend bringing your own drinking water.

The only thing is there was a bunch of potholes on the road going in. It could’ve been a little smoother, but the campground was great.

Upper Payette Lake Campground is a very lovely place to camp for a quiet get-away. My only complaint is that it seems the extra large motor home type campers get all the spots right next to the lake - not leaving any of the best spots for mere campers (with small campers or tents). Their generators upset the stillness that old-time campers would like to enjoy more.

Probably the worst campsite I have ever stayed at and likely the worst site at Upper Payette. Zero lake access or lake views, it’s swampy with mosquitos the size of horse flies, bears are very active in the area- we saw momma and cubs near the camp site. The camp site is basically on the side of the road and not worthy of the group site designation. I wouldn’t recommend this site to my worst enemy.

Beautiful place. Camp sites are shaded and private. Thins to the camp host. She was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I, and of course the doggies stayed in site 15. 14 wasn't occupied so we felt like we had the forest to ourselves. Here's the bottom line ... I came back from walking the dogs down by the lake and when I came back to the trailer my wife was sitting outside. She said that was the most relaxed she has ever been in her life and teared up a little bit. And she hates camping! Need I say more!?

The lake was right there. Very close to the campsite. Mosquitos everywhere so bring repellent and wood! Bring garbage bags to pack your trash to take with you. There is a drinking water station. Great scenery. Tons of walking/ bycyling. Beautiful lake.
