What Guests Are Saying
Montpelier Canyon Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with creek access and generally good pricing. Some sites are small and in need of maintenance, with issues like overgrown grass and limited restroom facilities due to vandalism. Despite these drawbacks, many visitors found it to be a pleasant stay overall and expressed a willingness to return.

Nice little spot! No real amenities, but vault toilet was clean. Just what we were looking for. Quiet, not a lot of people (Labor Day weekend to boot). Do not come here if you want fancy, but if you just want a spot to park your small camper and have a table and fire pit then it is for you.

Our camp site was well maintained. It’s a great hidden gem that really is quite close to Montpelier, yet far enough away to see stars. Also loved the river that flows next to our site.

Great little campground with stream running through it. Good fishing in Montpellier Reservoir just up the road.

quiet campground on a Saturday night in late June. Sites are somewhat uneven, with some very lumpy ground, and others some nicely mowed grass for tents. many of the tents are right by a gentle creek. Highway noise is audible but the highway doesn't have much traffic after about 10pm.

The campsite (#13) was beautiful with wildflowers blooming and a small stream nearby. It was private, with only minor noise from the highway. Outhouses were clean and stocked, but they were definitely outhouses. :)

This was a great little campsite! This is the 2nd year in a row that we have stayed here. The little river that runs through it is perfect to cool off in and then be right back at your campsite. We will definitely be making this a regular spot for our family to visit.

I honestly could have not asked for a more secluded and good experience. I would recommend camping here to anyone who just likes the outdoors and does not need extra frills. My spot had a creek running behind my tent spot and there is plenty to explore around the campground. Beautiful views and the stars were so beautiful!

Nice, quiet campground! We were tent camping and it was perfect for us. We definitely would not bring our large 5th wheel though, narrow roads with low over-hanging trees and tight turns. Small campground but had nice privacy with woods and a creek next to us. Bathrooms were okay— not the cleanest but could’ve been worse too. No showers and the only water spigot we saw was broken.

Quiet campground once the nearby highway traffic dies down. Clean and no issues while we were there

Really great campsite! It's small so it fit me and one other person really well (just enough room for a tent and my car). It could fit another tent so you could fit up to eight people, but it might get squishy. Really pretty site and a lot of wood lying around to use for a firepit. Toilets were good enough - as good as outhouses can get. No drinking water available, but if you bring your own water it works just fine.
