The Big Trinity Cabin boasts a great location for visitors. However, there are some challenges with the wood supply, as the wood shed collapsed, leaving limited dry wood available. Guests are advised to bring their own tools for gathering firewood from the surrounding area.

Great location! The wood situation could use some improvement. The wood shed collapsed so there is no dry wood. A pulaski is provided for splitting some pretty big rounds left out near the vault toilet. Hence, the fire boxes in the cabin are often empty. There is a lot of standing fire killed wood in the area so bring your own tools and you will be better off.

The cabin was adequate for shelter. The wood stove is actually a wood cooking stove, in the kitchen. It wasn’t what we expected for sure. It did a decent job of warming up the cabin though. There was no firewood in either of the wood boxes in the cabin and it just rained so all the wood outside was wet. The road getting to the cabin was so much worse than we imagined. So bad, in fact, that we will never go there again. It’s great for atv’s, but horrible for a vehicle (including a 4x4 diesel truck!).

Had a good stay in this basic cabin. Good thing the wood stove in the kitchen puts out some heat since dropped to about freezing each night. Bummer the sink drain doesnt work. Place was relatively clean as was the bathroom across the road. Place sleeps 4 at best unless someone's sleeping on the floor.

The cabin's probably great, but couldn't get to it (needed a high clearance vehicle for the last ~6 mi)...so spent 5 hours driving (round-trip) to end up spending the night back at home.

The cabin actually sleeps 4, and that’s only if you count the sofa covered with matted dog hair. Disgusting. We slept on the floor instead. (The USFS must’ve been counting the BROKEN cots piled in the corner when they claimed it sleeps 6.)
