Dent Acres

Dent Acres is a great COE campground with pull thrus and full hook ups sitting on Dwarshak Reservoir. I can see why they put a length limit of 35' for rv's or trailers, anything longer would be hard to maneuver the road or level on the site. Sites are large, have covered picnic tables and fire rings. Not a lot of shade on lower sites, however, so be prepared for the sun all day. Restrooms are fine, showers could use a little upgrade. The 18 mi of road getting to the campground will test your nerves and your driving skills, take it slow and pay attention. We pulled our 35' fifth wheel with our 21' diesel truck, doable with little traffic on the road. The camp hosts are very helpful and knowledgeable. Bring your boat, nice launch and plenty of parking, lake is great for fishing or sight seeing.

We drove south of Elk City, Idaho and the road was good pavement. Without notice, in the middle of nowhere, it was a dirt road and no signs indicating how far to Dent Campground. We proceeded and it was terrible washboard roads for I'm guessing 20 mi. Once again, no signs. Needless to say, when we made it to the campground the hosts were very kind and felt bad about the road. They have had other couples experience the same ordeal. Not a great start for our road trip. Either grade the road periodically or put up some signs. Better yet...do both.

We were unable to get into the space with our fifth wheel. As it was high centered due to the curvature of the site. Then there was no one around to speak to. To compound the issue the phone goes to an unmonitored line that you cannot leave a message at. And.., I’ve had no luck contacting them to see if I’m being charged.

We had a great time. Clean restroom. Very friendly and helpful camp host. They were the best.
