What Guests Are Saying
Bartoo Island Boat-in Campground offers a fantastic camping experience with beautiful beaches, clear water, and plenty of space for activities. While some campers noted issues with tent placement due to slanted grounds and high bee activity during meals, overall cleanliness and ample recreational opportunities make it a favorite destination for many families. A suggestion for improvement includes adding more vault toilets.

We enjoyed the campsite. The only thing we had a problem with was flat spaces for tents. There was a little bit of a slant in the spaces we put our tents on. Other than that, it was clean and lots of space. We’ll definitely go back

Everything was good except the bees were super out of control. We had to eat our meals in the lake because there were hundreds swarming non-stop. But besides that the beach was beautiful, water clear, campsite was very large.

I’ve been going to Bartoo island with my family for many years now. We have always loved the island, the Beaches, the fishing, and recreation of Priest Lake.
The Parks and Rec really need to install more vault toilets, my only complaint.

Sites were spacious and nice, however the yellow jacket problem was really bad.

Bartoo is one of my favorite places. Beautiful beach and clear cool water to swim in. Near perfect. The only problem was an inconsiderate camper nearby who played loud music incessantly all day and past 10;00 pm. We finally had to yell loudly at him to shut it off. Music should be prohibited if it can be heard by neighbors. Very irritating and inconsiderate.
Otherwise a great stay. We’ll be back for four more days in late August. Hopefully we won’t have loud music to contend with.

Our family stayed 4 nights on Bartoo Island in July 2022. With the large group, we reserved 3 adjacent spots (#14, 15, 16) and it was perfect for our group of 12. #14 has the best swimming area and boat area. There were several excellent spots to put up a tent. #15 had great space and 2 large tent pads that worked great, but there is nowhere to tie your boat at #15, as there is no sandy beach to come up to -- it's all large rocks. #16 is a great place to boat-in, large beach for swimming and play and our kids loved it! There is one small privacy area in between 15 and 16, but it doesn't appear there is one for each site. There is also a bathroom privacy area for #14. We brought a portable toilet and it worked great since we had all 3 sites, but maybe would have been weird if there were strangers on the adjacent site...
The views from all sites were stunning! You get all the morning sun and into early afternoon (until about 5 pm when it starts to go behind the mountain.) We would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend reserving all 3 sites if you have a small - medium sized group!
