Campground was clean and nice. Bathrooms were also.

I have been coming to Egin Lake campground for about 8 years every summer to play in the St Anothny sand dunes and in the past the campground was always very clean, taken care of and the camp host was very personable. I just returned from an 8-day stay in this campground and not once during the stay were the bathrooms cleaned, I have never seen them so bad and disgusting in all my years staying in this campground. The old camp host always made sure the bathrooms were cleaned and stocked at least once a day, the RV sites were cleaned up and gravel leveled out prior to a new camper coming in and none of this was being done with the new camp host and her husband. They were also not very personable and are not following the camp site rules themselves, I didn’t even see them until I had been there 4 days and then when I did the woman host was very pushy/arrogant going over all the camp site rules ( which I agree with all the rules) and that we better follow them especially when it come to the 5 mph speed limit and dogs on a leash, then over the rest of the trip I see her and her husband walking their dogs around camp with no leash on one of her dogs multiple times, her husband (Cowboy is what he called himself) speeding though camp in their yellow Camaro multiple times during my 8 day stay. I will continue to come to Egin to camp for the access to the sand dunes, but it is sad how the campground is being taken care of now. The camp hosts kept talking about how they wanted to come back next year and be the host, but what I have seen and talked to others I hope BLM will look at getting a different host in there next year or hold this host A LOT accountable to do their job as camp host and maintaining the campground.

I used go there 40 years ago it was a wonderful place then. Not so nice anymore, still better than some worse than others.
