A very pleasant, well maintained campground, close to the lake. We particularly liked the woodland setting and the relatively well spaced campsites. There are excellent hiking trails in the vicinity.

Campground was nice ! Crowded but these days that’s normal ! I was appalled that people were having campfires with the danger so high ! Just because you are in a developed campground where there is more vegetation why do you need a fire ? I left a day early because of this ! The yellow belly fire had started a day earlier ! And the Johnson creek fire had just been extinguished !! Just ban all fires period !!!

This is a very tight and crowded spot. Advertised as 40 ft long spot but was still on the short side. Camp host was rude and knocked on our door to have us hang a receipt slip on the post. We had already paid and reserved the spot and she could have just hung it there without disturbing us.
We stayed just one night since that was all that was available. We moved on to more dispersed camping with much more privacy and better views.

We enjoyed the hike up to Sawtooth Lake and kayaking on Alturas Lake. We rented Rzrs up in Stanley as well which was fun. Site 27 in the Alturas Lake Inlet campground was backwards, so we had to go in and out the wrong way, but we made it work.

Considered giving it a 1 star just because it was beautiful and perfect, would love it to never be booked so we can always enjoy it. Will def be returning for years to come. There’s no service, quiet space, and a nice beach for the kiddos to play.

Great location. The lake at the campsite is large and has a nice beach. The campsite was perfect because it’s close to Stanley and is accessible to hiking and recreation in the Sawtooths.
