You cannot beat rend lake campgrounds, especially South Marcum. I have stayed there twice this year and didnt want to leave. They have the best shower houses on the planet! Well laid out level pads and plenty of peace and quiet for everyone. If you like wildlife look no further her you have deer and turkeys everywhere, they just stand there and watch you go by.

Campsites are nice. Bathroom and showers are ok, a bit run down, but clean enough.

We had stormy weather the first night of our stay. There were several trees and limbs down throughout the campground. They did a wonderful job of clean up as soon as the storm was over.

All the Rec.gov campsites at Rend Lake are nice. Boating, fishing, 30 miles of paved bike only trails. Abundant hiking. wild life. Close to restaurants, Wal Mart, anything you need or forgot, also playgrounds for the children, decent shower houses, reasonable fees.

It was a good place to camp except they that is whomever takes care of the place could have clean the tree debris up from what looks like a tornado came through, but we all had a great time.
