First, got site #100 where someone had been kicked out and ***I*** had to clean up their trash. They wouldn't let me move to another site, even though others were available. I collected two large bags of trash from that site & that previous person.
The people across the road in #99 were very loud. Before the gate closed; I, again, tried to get a new site. My request was denied again.
Around 11 pm, the people across the way in 99 started yelling and making lots of noise. Tried calling but learned that no park rangers worked overnight anymore??? Really? Called the police, they didn't want to deal with it. Other campers were telling the people to be quiet..... nothing worked. Around 4:30 am, the woman in #99 was still yelling... not sure if she was yelling at another person or into her phone at that point.... She was screaming profanity and all sorts of nasty things. Again, it was 4:30 am and this was still going on. I got ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEP. So, I packed up and left. My first weekend off of the year was completely ruined at South Marcum Campground. I've never experienced anything like this ever before at any of the campgrounds around Rend Lake.
Oh yeah, this is a one way loop and people kept blasting through there the wrong way at high rates of speed. At least a dozen people did this... during the day and even late at night.
No refunds... no new site. Probably won't be back this year... or ever.
I want my money back.... Traveled 2+ hours to get there... just to have the entire weekend ruined. I am due a full refund, at the very least.

Very nice experience, the site wasnt the best for a tent because of the slant if the ground but it still worked out ok. Very shaded campsite, peaceful, and scenic. We will come back but on a more level ground.

The sites are nicely spread out and utility connections in good shape. The site we were in needed to be repaved as did many others.

Our family had a great time. There is a slight slope but nothing extreme. It's a well shaded spot that isn't very far from the bathroom and shower house. They're is also a trail at the site that leads down to the water.
