Clean, well managed, ample services. We spent several enjoyable nights and will return when in the area. Corps of Engineers always provide the best planned and managed sites- we look forward to them across the country!

I love this campground. Love taking our e-bikes on the bike path. Nice concrete picnic table. Space 57 had so much room. We felt like we had our own section of the park. Gorgeous views. BUT. The rear of our rig was down by 13 inches. Best we could get was 6 inches down in the rear. Camper may not be as hard to level. But it’s rough in a class A

South Marcum is a well kept campground, grounds & bathrooms were always cleaned well. You have access to Rend Lake at South Marcum with a boat launch with-in the campground. Staying at South Marcum gives you access to the South Sandusky beach that was clean, offering picnic tables & grills, the beach is only 5-7 minutes away by car. If you don't mind a bit of driving you are approximately 1 and 1/2 hours to Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest. You are also close to Jackson Falls also located in the Shawnee National Forest. Easy hiking to reach the top of the falls but if you are more adventurous & physically fit you can climb down to the bottom of the falls but it is a bit difficult to reach. There is also rock climbing areas at the falls as well. I highly recommend South Marcum campground.

It would’ve been nice had our campsite had water available. The campground is a beautiful setting along Rend Lake.
