Host do and exceptional job to make your stay very welcome... very friendly, even one of my grandchildren commented how the host talked with him, and smiled and waved every time he saw them. Said they were different from other host they have met at other parks. so thank you for making my grandkids (ages 20, 19, 13,11, and 6) and it was the 13 year old and 11... who made the comments, welcome... and take the time to talk with them... Park area very clean and some of the most beautiful sunsets seen during our visit. And we did have power issues when we first got there but the host got the maintenance dept there in a timely fashion... Thank you Boulder Host!!!! And my husband was and Army Veteran also.. thank you for your service!!!!

This is a beautiful park, but our site, #50, was in a wind tunnel off the lake. While other campers were enjoying campfires, we were being assaulted by gale force winds. We booked early and could have chosen a different site, had we only known. I feel that the website should have offered an advisory. Our stay would have been much more enjoyable had we been able to enjoy the outdoors of our campsite. On another note, we were very surprised when we discovered there was not water at the campsite. We were not prepared for that, but fortunately our traveling partner had an extra water hose and we were able to connect our hoses together to reach to the spigot across the street. Is there a reason Illinois parks don’t offer running water at each campsite? Lastly, I will say we had a very enjoyable afternoon kayaking in the cove up creek from the marina. It was very quiet and beautiful.

A decent campground for families on the lake. With that being said it is busy and people made noise and had loud conversations after quiet hours started. Overall a good trip.
