Easy check-in. Sites well spaced and easily marked. Flat, paved FHU sites ….many back right up the the lake, or have a great view. Enough trees for shade, but not too many!

Coles Creek is one of my favorite USACE camping facilities. We have been here twice before and have never been disappointed. This particular visit was for one night on July 23, 2021 in campsite 024, and the experience was just as enjoyable as the previous visits. The campsite consisted of a level concrete camping pad, picnic table and fire ring as well as water and 30/50 Amp electric service. Campsite 024 is right on the lakeshore and offered beautiful views of the water. In general, the common areas and facilities are very well kept by the staff. This was my first visit during the heart of the summer camping season, with all previous visits occurring in late-September, so this was the first time I actually felt 'crowded' while visiting this park. There are large trees here, but there is minimal understory that would provide privacy between the campsites. In late-September when there are only two or three campers in each loop, this is not an issue; but in July when all the campsites are filled, you can definitely begin to feel a little cramped. ATT service here was strong with 61.4 Mbps down and 5.84 Mbps up and Verizon offered 60.8 Mbps down and 17.8 Mbps up.

Best Campground at Carlyle Lake spacious paved sites clean restrooms and GREAT Campground Hosts. Unfortunately this campground is mismanaged by the US Army Corps of Engineers it closes way to early in the camping season. You never know what the close out date is year to year. At minimum it should stay open until mid October like it did in past years..
