Stayed at Emerald Trails for 3 months from middle of July to middle of October in my 39 foot Deisel pusher RV. Bob, Debbie, Jim and Plez the owner and staff were unbelievable! Any thing you needed they were there for you.

The camp ground is set back in a beautiful wooded area with a large lake. Very quiet and yet close to anything you might need (restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc.). Even close to an expressway that will take you to downtown Chicago.

Some year around residents that were very friendly and extremely helpful when we had a couple issues with my RV.

I plan on returning every year! What a great place and want to thank the owner (Bob) and staff for a wonderful experience!!

I stayed for one night and arrived much later than I had planned. They were very helpful and left a map on the office door showing my spot and giving me a pull-through to help make my set up easier. I showered at the bath house in the morning and while it could have been a bit cleaner there was ample hot water and counter space. I can’t say much about the surroundings or other amenities as I was there just one night.

It was very quiet and well maintained. The people working the office were very nice and helpful. I feel that some of the other reviews may have been misrepresentative. There were no loud parties and all the RV's and the people staying in them are just normal people enjoying themselves.

Location, location, location! Great for visiting Chicago for a few days. The long term camper tenants campers are a sight! The staff were very friendly and always waved to us. The trash is picked up regularly in the provided cans. We had a fire pit I think… the long term camper next door had taken it over and put his “trash” in it to burn. People mention motorcycles, it’s not the motorcycle that’s ever the problem. Let me say the gentleman with the Blue Harley was respectful. There was another one. We did catch a few small Bass, Crappie, Sunnies, and catfish.

We stayed here for a week over the summer and loved the park. It is a little disquieting when you pull in and all you see are RVs that look like they haven't moved in decades. But don't let that fool you. This is a very nice park. Quiet, clean and friendly staff. I saw another review complaining about the fishing. We did not have that problem. Everyone in my family had no problem catching a variety of fish. And we just used hotdogs for bait.
