We always camp in the southern loop, but this time tried the northern loop campsites. We loved the larger campsites on the northern and western side of this loop.

This is a nice small CoE campground. Make reservations online; no one was manning the booth, but it was the last weekend so not sure how things work in the summer. Saw a ranger once, never saw the host that we know of. Felt safe here and while on the bike path walking. We were 2 families camping, sites 18 & 19 and these two sites were nice for us. There was a water spigot immediately behind us in 18. There are water spigots throughout the campground; some are at the front of the sites, some are at the rear of the sites - hard to tell on any maps where they are exactly. Two dump stations at the entrance/exit of the campground and people were courteous on Sunday when leaving. The campground was well-kept and clean. There are 2 pit toilets on either end of the campground loops and one main bathroom/shower house with a few flush toilets and 2 shower stalls with sufficient space. Water was push-button and took awhile to warm up but once warm was fine. Overall I'd call the sites medium-small, some seemed cramped. Some had fire pits to the side, some had fire pits at the back of the sites. There were a few "buddy" sites that are meant to be shared, and others that are spaced so close together they should be called buddy sites. The sites are not spaced regularly and the layout of the sites is a little odd and sporadic but I just used a few different maps to figure out site layout. Our sites, 18/19 were perfect for us with space between to spread out a little, and our neighbors didn't feel on top of us. There are several sites directly on the water on the south loop, and several sites technically on the water but hidden by trees/brush on both loops. There are also train tracks, but only saw 2 trains (very short ones) the entire weekend and during the day Saturday. Bugs were annoying but not awful. There is a bike path immediately outside the campground which is nice for walking, biking, etc. Fire rings and picnic tables were in good shape.

The campgrounds seemed and well maintained. The fall colors were beautiful. The hiking trails at Wildcat Den also provided a colorful display of fall.

Nice clean campground with a list of ammenities. Comfortable wide sites, 5 or 6 even have a clear river view. Very friendly and helpful park staff/rangers. Regular city police patrol gives a nice feeling of safety. This is without doubt my favorite campground in the area.

The campsite was on water. The wildlife was a pleasure to enjoy. The campsite was paved with water fill up close.

This was my second visit to FC and as before, it was a great stop over. Easy access, smooth internal roads, and nice location. Never saw a Camp Host, however. When I arrived, my car was dead and needed a jump. Thank goodness for wonderful, helpful fellow RVers!

These sites are very nicely kept, from the roads to setup and showers. The views were great and the design of how the campers were aligned was well thought out.
