Allison Campground is a well-maintained and clean facility with helpful staff, offering great amenities like free swim passes and access to fishing and boating. The campground is family-friendly, with quiet surroundings and convenient nearby restaurants and stores. However, the showers could use significant improvement, as they were reported to be unsanitary.

Great place to camp, loved the shady campgrounds and access to water for fishing. Campsite was well taken care of and clean. Staff were helpful and competent. The grounds were neatly taken care of.

The only thing that I can complain about is that the showers were absolutely disgusting. You can't wash your hair because one hand has to be pulling the string to make the water come out of the shower head (unless you tie it to the handicap bar/railing, and then you're having to deal with knotted wet string)

The shower walls were covered with dark splotches from the floor to about 3 ft high on every wall. I don't know if it was rust or poop or dirt or dark paint or mold, all I know is that I would prefer to be dirty rather than shower some place is gross as that.

I loved the fact that you got free passes to the nearby pool/water park and that the lake story beach and boat rental were very nice .

Many restaurants, stores and amenities ( such as live bait / camping goods) were available within a 5-minute drive

Allison camp ground is excellent place to bring the family for a vacation, you get to swim at lakeside pool park. The fourth of July Big Bang Boom is amazing with the music to the fireworks. My family has been coming to Allison for 4 generations now. And the whole family love the place and the peace and quiet & fishing area too

2.9 miles from I-74, quiet and beautiful. City campground starting at $19 non-electric, $26 electric-only and $40 fhu. Lovely maintained park, although limbs are low towards the back of the park. Several concrete padded sites increases wheelchair accessibility. Fire pit and picnic table at site. 14 day limit unless in one of the monthly sites. Camp host is super nice!
