What Guests Are Saying
Blanding Landing is a well-maintained campground with clean restrooms and showers, friendly hosts, and a beautiful location along the Mississippi River. Many visitors appreciated the ample shade and recreational opportunities, such as a nearby boat ramp. However, frequent train traffic can be disruptive, especially at night, so light sleepers should prepare accordingly.

The place was great but the bugs and the awful train passing every so often also the smoke from fires didn’t help

Lovely location. Nice view of the Miss. Close to the boat ramp. Electrical hook up.
Would be excellent EXCEPT --- THe BNSF frieght train is 60 yards from your tent. It is not bad in the daytime. But at night frieght runs every hour. It really is torture having the bells and horn blasting 3 -6 times every hour.
Other than that it is a really nice place!

My first trip over I had no issues other than the mosquitos which can’t be helped. The second trip going back home (5 days apart) the mosquitoes were much better but the camp host was SO rude! He and his wife were so nice when I was alone just me and my dog but when I came back 5 days later it was just him and he was upset I had a discount card since my husband is a disabled vet and wanted to see the card. I was going to get it out of my purse when he said never mind. Is it a problem that we have a discount card? We camp often and have never had an issue having one before. Then he told me that I had to make sure I keep “ahold of that dog” like my dog was doing something wrong. We were literally the only people in the entire lower campsite and my dog was with my husband. I went up to go to the bathroom and my dog is my support animal so he came up to the bathroom and laid down next to the door cause my husband didn’t see him take off after me. He wasn’t an issue and wasn’t doing anything wrong just waiting for me to come out of the bathroom and that is when the host said we have to get ahold of our dog. Then at 7am we were woken up by him mowing the lawn. I understand needing to mow the lawn early which wasn’t my issue it was that he was mowing the lawn right next to where we were sleeping in our SUV and had no regard for us. We are trying to travel from Ohio back home to Utah so sleep was essential but apparently we upset him. The area is gorgeous just be aware that the host may/may not be cross with you for no reason

Terrible sleep. On a active freight train tracks alll day and all night the trains come by blasting there horn. You can be 10 mi from the camp site and still hear the train horns. Very wild

In the description it says its quiet and scenic, and that is soooo far from the truth. Its right next to train tracks and they go by often and are super noisy. If you are a light sleeper this isnt a good place to stay. It shakes the camper every time it goes by all hours of the day amd night

Really nice place. Well kept.
It's beware some of the sites are not level. Took us a pretty good doing to get our rig leveled up and we've got a small rig so do your research on picking your site. Seems like the inside sights under the trees are better than the exteriors. At least ours were by the we're in number 11 by the playground and ours is severely sloped.
Also a buyer beware. There are trains that go by and they do blow their whistle so that's going to be an issue for you. Keep going.
