About Blanding Landing

Blanding Landing is situated in a lush river valley on the east bank of the great Mississippi, just 13 mi from Galena, Illinois. Rich deposits of minerals line the landscape. In the early 19th century, miners from around the globe flocked to the area in search of wealth from minerals. This was the nation's first mineral rush, predating California's legendary Gold Rush.

What Guests Are Saying

Blanding Landing is a well-maintained campground with clean restrooms and showers, friendly hosts, and a beautiful location along the Mississippi River. Many visitors appreciated the ample shade and recreational opportunities, such as a nearby boat ramp. However, frequent train traffic can be disruptive, especially at night, so light sleepers should prepare accordingly.

It's a very nice campground with clean facilities. The only downside was the trains. Bring your earplugs if you want to get sleep.

I would've gave it 5 stars if they would clean out an area for on-shore fishing. You need a boat, if not your out of luck. Overall beautifully kept and clean rest/shower rooms.

Campground is nice if you don’t mind occasional trains. Need a boat if you want to swim. Nice view of the river and sunset.

Our campground host was excellent. She stopped to visit us and answer any questions we had. She kept the bathrooms very clean and she routinely checked the campsites, so we could stop her and ask questions as well. The train is close to the campground, but, we enjoy trains, so it never bothered us. It is a small campground with a beautiful view of the water. We would go back again.

Great place to stay a lot of privacy. The only drawback is the train that seem to run quite frequent. If you plan to be outside expect the train coming through at least every 30 minutes with horn sounding.
