Coon Creek Campground offers beautiful views, clean facilities, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciated the friendly staff and well-maintained grounds, with some sites providing easy access to the lake and nearby trails. While some campers noted issues with site leveling and occasional cleanliness concerns, overall experiences were positive, with many planning to return.

Love this place - campground is beautiful and facilities are clean. We go as much as possible. Sure hope the federal government can find a way to keep it open!

Very nice and helpful gate attendants again this year. Also kudos to the couple that clean the showers/restrooms! Always kept clean and nice! We spend between 30-40 nights a year at Coon Creek Illinois and have for 30 years, It is in my opinion the best on the lake. I would not have any problems of paying 2 or more dollars a night to help pay to these people and also the mowing contracts.

The people across the street in campers were up playing music and carrying on loud conversations until 2am. Did not make for a good night of sleep.

Great camp ground. Needs more full hookup sites in non-reserve areas

Site 130 is my favorite spot. Lots of shade throughout the day. Site is perfect for our 5th wheel plus parking for our truck and a car. Grass for tents and close to bathroom, showers and laundry. Not a lot of traffic on this wing which is great for the little grandkids to ride their bikes and rollerblade. Gate hosts are awesome too.

Coon Creek was very quiet and clean. We went during the week. The only complaint was how low the lake was but you have no control of that. Showers were clean and shower had warm water and very good water pressure.
