What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

Beautiful Campground. Be prepared to fight the biting flies and mosquitoes spray does not work.

Our stay at the campground was excellent. We went over 4th of July weekend and the mayflies were hatching luckily we weren't close to the water blessing in disguise. One note the boat launch at the campground really is just for kayaks. Trying to launch a normal boat and getting out to the river channel extremely difficult. I gave up. There are lots of submerge trees and it is nearly two miles to the main channel. Best bet if you bring a boat is to drive down to the lock and dam and put in. Best part about the 4th of July no fireworks at the campground so it was relatively quiet.

Nice and clean campgrounds with great shower houses. Not to far from Galena and Clinton, Iowa.
