What Guests Are Saying
Thomson Causeway is praised for its beautiful riverside camping, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious concrete pads, proximity to nature, and stunning sunsets over the Mississippi River. While some concerns were raised about noise from barking dogs and a less-than-friendly host, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning to return.

Great site on the Mississippi River. Also a great value for the price. Great location for exploring the river. Terrific sunsets. Interesting experience with the end of May fly season.

The fire pits should be cleaned. Eagles were in great condition. All around nice camping.

A great place to camp. The campground is always neat and tidy. The staff is always friendly. Roads are always well maintained and a great place for bike riding. There is a bike path that goes north to Savanna, Illinois or South to Fulton and unto the Quad Cities. A little rough in places, but very good over all. This was our four trip there and we will be back. Great view of the Mississippi River and great sunsets. There is a functional Dutch windmill in nearby Fulton, Illinois. Across the river in Clinton, Iowa all kinds of shopping and great restaurants. There is a Show Boat on the river and you can take in a ball game when the Lumber Kings are in town. Thomson is a very small friendly community, but they have the very best Bicycle Shop. It is well stock and have the best repairmen around. My wife and I take our bikes there every year. They sell bikes there, but they specialize in recumbent type bikes and trikes. Their prices are super reasonable. East of the Arnold's bike shop is Dusty's Pizza. Thee absolute best pizza.

Thomson Causeway is our most favorite place to camp. It is a beautiful, clean, well kept up campground with the most beautiful sunsets and view of the Mississippi River. We enjoy going there every summer, and will continue to do so as long as we can. A very nice, quiet, and scenic place to fish, bird watch, bike, or just relax. Thank you Thomson for a beautiful campground.

It was a great long weekend with our young nieces having a ball. Bird watching, beaver spotting, snakes and frogs and snails. They were in their element. Great time had by all of us!
