Rend Lake and its blue leg is great! Though, the recently felled large tree next to this campsite (051) is now causing issues. We believe that tree served as a wind-block for the bathroom and dumpster smells right up the hill, as it was noticeable at times. Otherwise, this space has pull-through parking and enough space for a large group. We will be back but will probably avoid this particular site in the future.

Gun creek great host and gate attendant. Campground clean and well kept. Bath house was closed for the season so can’t comment there but last time there were clean but old . Favorite overnight between Memphis and Chicago.easy off and on the interstate.

My favorite Rend Lake campground is Gun creek. It’s quiet and grounds are well maintained.

On site 21 nite loop. Very difficult to get my 40’ 5th wheel lever, ended up with right side wheels 2” off the ground and couldn’t use back set of steeps because bottom step was about 2’ above grade, had to place 3 1”mats at front door and still had high first step. Terrain around fire pit very unlevel, wife just had knee replacement and very scared of falling. Timbers barried created trip hazards. THIS SITE NEEDS MAjOR IMPROVEMENTS

From I-57 take exit 77 and turn west on Route 154. Turn left onto Gun Creek Trail/Larry Foster Parkway, then right onto Golf Course Road. Continue 1/2 mile to park entrance.
