We enjoyed site #83 which is right on the water! The site was level, shady, had fresh water adjacent and it was very beautiful overlooking the lake. A morning stroll down to the shore rewarded us with scenic photos. Park was clean and well equipped. We would stay here again.

We only stayed overnight, the campground is very well maintained. Check-in was easy, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We have stayed at Rend Lake before and would definitely visit again.

Very nice campground. We stayed for the night traveling through the state. Sites were decent size, great views of lake, and great price. It had just rained and was muggy out, so quite a bit of mosquitoes were hanging out under our awning and truck. But they didn't seem to bother us as we were walking our dog. Definitely would return if in the area!!!

We went the weekend of July 4th. We had an excellent spot to view the fireworks at the golf course. Friendly and quiet campground.

Campground was very clean and sites were well maintained. Bathrooms were also very clean. The only negative was due to the noise level from the construction work being done on the bridge. So that is of course not the campgrounds fault. It was really loud unfortunately. The rodeo and fireworks show was awesome though!

Gun creek is one of our favorite campgrounds. The only issue we have is there is not enough parking spots or spaces. You can barely get the camper and two vehicles in most of the spots. Really need to add an additional parking spot to each campsite.

Gun Creek has been a nice stop-over of mine for the last few years. It's a beautiful, well-kept facility right off the highway. Watch for specific site notations regarding those that aren't very level; aside from that, it's always a treat to stay here.

From I-57 take exit 77 and turn west on Route 154. Turn left onto Gun Creek Trail/Larry Foster Parkway, then right onto Golf Course Road. Continue 1/2 mile to park entrance.
Gun Creek Campground is accessible from I-57 via exit 77, approximately 1 mile away. Illinois Route 154 runs directly in front of the campground, providing further access.
