Very good camp ground. Toilets and bathing facilities were very clean. Beautiful location. A little noisy, mostly due to nearby highways.

Campground was very clean and well maintained. Bicycle trails were a huge plus. Some campsites were close to the lake with sandy beach areas behind them which made it easy to launch a kayak.

Site#61 was significantly unlevel: side 2 side was good but back of site was quite a bit lower than front requiring 5 blocks under each of the auto leveling rear jacks. An Old concrete picnic table was obviously unmovable and uncomfortable. Fire pit was old and in poor condition. Site had a nearly 6 in. drop from RV pad to surrounding ground where picnic table & fire pit are. and entire site was sloped considerably downhill toward back of the site. Verizon cell service was spotty ranging from occasionally no service to 1-2Mbps 4G download speeds generally suitable for normal phone pc use like email & web browsing with occasional windows when video streaming works if you can tolerate frequent service interruptions. Showers located on site loop were good but nearby main shower-house was tiny showers with no restroom or sink facilities and antique showers that got everything in the room wet if not kept in a waterproof bag

We love camping at Gun Creek. It’s quiet and has lots of room for the kids to ride their bikes. Most sites are easy to set up your camper there are only a few that are to steep and a few (site #5) that your campfire is directly next to your neighbors camper. Just do a site search before booking.

There is a beach at North Marcum, hiking spots, playgrounds, plenty to do. Walmart down in Benton for necessities.
