I loved my stay at Dunewood. I was here during the end of September, so the campground was maybe 2/3 full. The campground is beautiful, quiet, and full of the sound of crickets and frogs. We took the mile and a half walk to the lake edge. The location makes us an outstanding choice for your visit to the national park. Campsites feel very secluded because of all of the trees. Great day!

Bathrooms were fair, running water, flush toilets. We were site 46, Douglas. Our site was isolated, near the parking for the walk-to sites. The picnic table was dirty, so bring a tablecloth. The mosquitoes were miserable, relentless, and bug-spray-resistant in late September. The campground (and park) are in a rundown part of town and we felt slightly unsafe. It was hard to escape the sounds of traffic and trains. The views were pretty.

Campsite is rather "closed in" as it is buried in the woods. But we knew that. Though the national park is new, the campground is from when it was a National Shoreline or something like that. Bathrooms are well attended to and the showers are FREE (try to get a free shower in Yellowstone!) Paved roads and pads.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
