Nice campground. Friendly staff. There needs to be some tree trimming to help larger rigs get around.

There are low hanging trees when driving in and out of the campground. The site reservation guide of the site lengths are deceiving. Some sights are L shaped.

Too much undergrowth, resulting in many mosquitos. Could not spend ANY time outside.
Tornado WARNING while there (with 2 touchdowns nearby). The only shelter was an old WOODEN bath house. There definitely should be a concrete shelter/bath house available.
Also, this area should never have been "upgraded" to a National Park. It should have remained a National Lakeshore. We have visited many many National Parks and State Parks. This is the worst National Park we have visited, and many states Parks rank above this.

Sites have a good amount of space between them, you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbors, and good sized tent pads. Bathrooms and shower houses were relatively clean and very large. There were 4 stand alone shower stalls, each individual, which gave a great amount of privacy. Campground hosts were super friendly and prompt in checking us in, even though we arrived pretty late. We had a great stay and will definitely camp there the next time we're in the area!

We always love camping at Dunewood! The sites are very well maintained, the bathrooms are clean, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. We ride our bikes from the campground to Michigan City and sometimes to Grand Beach, when we have more energy! You can't beat the proximity to Lake Michigan! Great campground, one of our favorites!
