Although it was hot and there were mosquitos during our visit to Dunewood, it made our swim in Lake Michigan that much better! We had a wonderful time and saw so many beautiful native plants and animals, and the firefly light show was amazing. We will be back!

Beautiful campsites (we had 45 and 46). The sites were flat, well-groomed, and had plenty of space. Plus they were very private. The bathrooms and showers were spacious and we appreciated them being cleaned every day. Also appreciated the station for filling water bottles. There was some noise from train tracks and highways, but mostly in the background and worth it for the location. Also, recommend mosquito repellant, at least in July.

Newly paved roads & sites were awesome! It was hot but manageable. Mosquitoes were there but if you used spray w/ Deet, they stayed away. Easy 1.5 mi walk, bike ride or drive to the beach.

The check-in process was easy and the rnager was so kind to engage with my kids as we checked-in. The site itself was wonderful, save the occassional trains and misquitos. Thos are things they cant control. For everything that can be controlled, they did so well. The bathrooms was claen as well as the showers. It is astoundingly close to several beaches with easy access to each. You cant beat the gift shop and convinience stor oppostie the campground entrance. Great place to stay, we will definitely be back.

Clean, shaded, well kept. Must turn generator off from 10p to 6a! Not widely advertised on reservation site! Close to beaches and dunes. Excellent stay value. Gas station and propane by Marathon close to entrance...really convenient!

Beautiful and well-maintained campground and facilities. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Be mindful of the wildlife though, mosquitos in the summer are pretty bad and the raccoons at night can be a menace if food and trash is not properly secured!

I will never go to another non electric camp ground, not worth it.

The campsite was wonderful and the park ranger who checked us in was the best! She made the experience amazing! There was a lot of mosquitoes but that is to be expected in a woody area like the Douglas loop. There was plenty of space for two tents and trees for a hammock. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and the showers had hot water. We did have a strange encounter with a man showing up to our site at midnight looking for his campsite in the woods. Because we were a younger group of girls it was a bit unnerving so I would recommend checking in before it gets dark so you are able to find your site. Overall though it was a great experience and the beach was close by!

Great campground. Plenty of space for all the equipment. Bathrooms are clean and the all campground staff/host were so very helpful.
