The maintenance staff and camp hosts require 12 laminated or dry erase signs, tape to place signs and marker or pen
each sign stating"
" bathrooms, locked due to power outage at the lift station, may cause sewage, back up, The closest bathrooms are open.............,,,..
......... are open.
The name of the nearest open bathroom would be written in the blank space,
I experienced confusion and extreme discomfort day AFTER the power went off, the bathrooms appeared to be randomly locked.
I thought why is the bathroom locked?
Still needing to use the facilities, I drove to another ,finding it locked finally
I saw the maintenance staff golf cart and question why the bathroom was locked.
Then I drove to the closest bathroom
I do not understand the value of maintenance – time being used to pick up tiny sticks and leaves off of a paved path ,
On the road, or in a campsite.

Great location near the beach. Good area for bike riding. Sites are nicely screened for privacy between sites.

The campground has modern facilities, is well maintained, and has everything a tent camper could ask for. The dish sink and showers were unexpected and greatly appreciated. The bathrooms are very centrally located with paved or gravel paths to and from individual sites. The closest beach requires driving, and parking can be limited. A bicycle would be useful for getting to and from the beach; it is all flat terrain. The dune area is actually about a 20-minute drive West from the campsite, but well worth the trip. West Beach is gorgeous, and the fishing pier at Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk is worth the stop as well. A screen house is a must for comfortable outdoor living in August at the campsite; the mosquitoes were intense. I also noticed that some of the sites flooded during a heavy rainstorm; ours did not, and despite the heavy rain, our tent remained dry inside.

This campsite is very beautiful for a stay. It had good facilities. This spot was also close to the bathroom. The cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers was excellent and also the staff were very kind.
The only problem, in my opinion, was the presence of ticks. Having mosquitoes is perhaps normal in nature, but I feel they might need some special spraying for these ticks. The way they bite and the bite areas on the body indicate exactly that they were ticks.

Had a nice spot close to bathroom. A little buggy but it’s to be expected being in the woods.

Nice private sites, shaded but buggy. Facilities are pretty clean too. Beach was fantastic, gotta park far so plan for a wagon.

Our campsite was spacious and bathrooms/showers were fine. The park ranger did a lovely presentation about animals that all of the kids enjoyed. She was great at educating us about the area! My main concern is the poison ivy growing near sidewalks. I understand if it was growing in the woods, but it’s literally next to the sidewalk to the restroom. Kids are unaware and end up with itchy blisters.
