We reserved site 11 in Mather. The site description said our 30’ camper would fit. It definitely did not. The site was too small for our camper, and even if it had, we would have had to park the truck elsewhere. We dry camped in the visitor center parking lot, which was absolutely fine since we just had an overnight stay. Apparently, this happens a lot with Site 11.

Nice campsites but inaccurate as to the size RV that they can hold. Site 35 was supposed to accommodate a 39 ft motorhome. Ours is 31 ft. We had to pull in diagonally to fit!

It's located only a mile from the shore of Lake Michigan !
Camp hosts were the best!
Both the walk-in site and drive up sites are large .
Maintenance staff fabulous! Friendly, polite, experts, professional professionals going above and beyond!
Restrooms always clean well stocked individual shower rooms fabulous!
Clean ! And hot water! Bike rack, large outdoor sink, extra outlets for charging,
Already looking forward to next season.

This is one of our new favorite campgrounds. We tent camped at one of the hike in sites and it was so well maintained. It was not a very long hike. We had two kids with us (4 and 7), so we appreciated that it wasn't too far from the cars. We also loved how spaced out the sites were. In addition, the bathrooms were the nicest we have ever had camping.

Nice campground and less expensive than the State Park; only downside is that is no walking access to the beach

I noticed a dangerous dead limb over my camp -- the park removed it promptly.
Someone/something is gaming camp reservations. The supposedly 100% full campground was actually only 40% full. I hope this problem can be solved!

Great location. Walking distance to lakeshore. Easy informative check in. Nice shower n restroom. Quite and under tree canopy. Easy drive to local towns (south bend) and interstate etc. Grocery and bike rental nearby , a walking path around the marsh, and a craft gallery all close by as well. Would definitely stay here again.
