Previously, we stayed in the Douglas campground, and had a better overall experience there. Mathers campground, we realized, is closer to the highway, and railroad tracks, which made it much noisier (trains running all through the night). Next time we will go back to the Douglas campground.

A ranger come up to us HOT. No good morning, no nothing, demanding papers that we had but couldn't find (we had never done this before). Instead of helping us, she threatened us with fines and sat there while her small child climbed around our campground.
Even worse than this, I left something behind that was rather expensive. Very expensive actually. I called and left a message that night to let them know. The next day, they were very agravated and snappy even though I was just checking and admited it to be my fault. Instead of hanging onto it or calling me, they told me they threw it away (which i doubt).
Don't go here.

Campground was really dark compared to what I was expecting. Bathroom facilities were very good and clean. Would stay again if I were in the area

The Beaches are hard for the physically challenged. We found the best was for my husband to drop me off at Kemil Beach. Of course then he had to walk both ways to the parking lot!

The campground and amenities were excellent. The staff were helpful and the facilities clean. The major drawbacks here are the highways and train tracks that surround this campground. I was at site 67, and the sound of highway 20 to the south was so loud I almost left.
