My primitive tent site was very quiet and peaceful, in spite of a full campground. The ranger who got me set up was extremely friendly and helpful. Her recommendation to eat at the Goblin and Grocer restaurant near the entrance to the campground was spot on.

Fantastic campground! The camp hosts were so nice and helpful. Very close to beach access on the Lake and easy drives to other parts of the park. There is a pizza food truck near the entrance of the campground which was great (cash only but there is an ATM in the adjacent store). Potable water on site to fill your tanks and there were water bottle fill ups in the campground and through the park. No frills bathrooms but the showers were clean with hot water and good pressure.

A clean well kept campground. I enjoyed the privacy of the walk in site.
Close to a beach and an easy drive to West Beach and other places.

Exactly what you look for in a National Park campground. My rating is based on comparing it to other CGs of this type - there are no hookups and the site was only level for a short distance (steepish slopes leading up and down to it). But it was quiet (didn't even hear any generators), well-wooded, and peaceful. The staff at check-in were great - very friendly and helpful. We were opposite the bathhouse, which was well-equipped and clean. The Indiana Dunes NP is all around. The park is fascinating. Walking through woods on sand dunes is a new experience. We ate at Joe and Freddy's just down the road - highly recommended.

- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
