Don't let the photos fool you — the sites look way better in person. They're all a quick walk from the parking area, with plenty of space and some-what privacy between them, so you can really enjoy yourself. The main area has clean restrooms with showers, which is super convenient. Plus, Hobgoblin has an awesome drink selection, and Jannsen’s Dunes Mart has all the basics in case you need to grab anything you left behind.

This campground is quiet, and the sites are level and spacious. I appreciate the clean bathrooms and individual shower rooms, as well.

We stayed at one of the walk-in campsites in mid-October. Since the walk-in sites are positioned around the parking lot and campground loop, most are a relatively short walk to the bathroom/showers. Sites are a good size with plenty of space for tent and room to move around. Fire ring at our site was in excellent condition. Camp host was easy to find and helpful, directing us to where to get firewood. The campground itself does not sell firewood, but there is a gas station very close by that does. Dunewood Trace trailhead is also accessible from the campgrounds, which is another plus, since the trail is connected to the Glenwood Dunes trail system. The main caveat with the NP campground is that they are about 10 miles from the beach. We didn't really mind this, as we would have to drive to Cowles Bog and other sites regardless, but if you prefer a walk to the beach from your campsite, the SP campground might be preferable. Otherwise, we liked Dunewood, as good as the other NP campgrounds we've stayed at.

Nice bathroom with hot shower, but road noise and train TERRIBLE!!!! This campground is in the middle of 2 cities and along a major highway. Did not seem like a Nat park campground at all!

The camping sites are very large and well separated from each other. The restrooms and showers were very clean. Views of Chicago from Indiana Dunes are spectacular along with just the beauty of Lake Michigan.

Great camp sites throughout this park. We got a pull through site which was perfect! Lots of space between sites.

- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
