Wonderful at check in. Too many mosquitoes....not your fault. Nice camp areas. Nice big sites.

The park ranger at the check in was super sweet and very informative. Had such a relaxing weekend and the campground is very beautiful! Can’t wait to come again.

The beach is only about a mile from the campsite, and the visitor's center is only about a 5 minute drive. There were some mosquitos and the bathrooms were a little bit gross due to disrespectful visitors. However, we loved it and would recommend.

One of our best camping experience to date. We actually have a small hybrid camper and a was a little concerned about no hook up. It was wonderful.
Most of the sites, if not all, in the Mather Loop are shaded by trees. The vegetation is so dense around the sites that you hardly see a few sites away.
The showers and bathroom were clean and water was plentiful.
Judith who checked us in was friendly and offered great recommendations.
It was quiet at night with fires and conversation, the nights are dark and I felt totally safe.
I would recommend taking bikes if you like to get around without a car. The beaches is about a mi away but on sidewalk/shared bike road. If you are going on the gravel trails get an official report of conditions. We rode about 5 mi to the Visitors Center and about 1/3 was under water. We probably could have taken back roads.
Our only concern was that the campground was never more than 1/3 full and yet it said “FULL”, made me mad that presumably people are not cancelling their reservations leaving it open for someone else to enjoy.

Easy check-in. Cute walk-in site in the woods, about one mile from Lake Michigan. The only downside was it was extremely buggy and difficult to hang out outside the tent in the evening due to that.

Nice place to camp for tents, small trailers, and small motorhomes (Class C). Goblin & Grocer, just outside the campground is a wonderful place to dine, as are many places in Michigan City. We loved hitting the huge Outlet Mall in Michigan City (closest Stsrbucks). The beaches are fun and the sunsets beautiful on clear evenings.

- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.

- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
