The Indiana Dunes are always a great experience. Love that the campsites have trees and foliage that gives your campsite an out in the woods feel! Love the shepherd's pole to hand my lantern.

We love the Dunewood Campground. This was our third stay, but our first on the Mather Loop. We were there with three other families, staying at sites 8 - 11. We loved how these sites has a little more privacy from other sites than when we stayed on the Douglas Loop. The repaved loop drive was great for the kids to scoot & skateboard on. The site host was a very nice family and their son even came over to play with my son, who was older than all the other kids in our group, which he appreciated. The facilities are just right for our friends who aren't used to back-woods camping. The only downside of this campground is that you can hear both road noise and trains, even at night. We have found that ear plugs really help with this, but it does detract from the "being in nature" experience. Otherwise, I highly recommend Dunewood Campground for inexperienced campers or people looking to escape the city. We love hiking the dune trails and spending time at the beach! The Douglas Environmental Center is also excellent.

Semi-spaced out campsites, lots of shade, and private shower rooms. It was well maintained and a great campground overall.

I was in one of the sites in Douglas loop. The site is clean, the person checking me in was nice, friendly and informational. The process very smooth. There were trains passing by at night but not disturbing to me at all. The beach in walking distance like 20 min.. it was fun and I will re-visit again to explore more with my dog

Nice Campground. Bathhouse facilities were clean. Campsite was spacious. Close access to the beaches and park attractions. You're tucked away in the woods, but that also means bugs and flies depending on your time of year. We were there in late summer, and the flies were abundant and they bite. Candles helped, bug repellent did not.

Stayed in walkin site 64. Lots of space. Showers aren’t great to look at but they have great water pressure and plenty of hot water…that’s what I need.
