Crows Nest RV Resort

We stayed in the big cabin on the hill. My kids loved the loft. This place has a giant bounce pillow that my girls apparently never get tired of bouncing on. The heated pool was sweet. We did s’mores and they had firewood for us and that was cheap. And they had a gas grill for us right at the cabin on the porch to cook dinner. The whole experience was nice. We live less than an hour away… I just took my kids there for something fun to do. It’ll be at least an annual visit for us.

This was a fine place to stay, no trees or shade and the spots are gravel. Very little to do here. There is a pool and some kind of jumping thing for the kids. The office is closed on the weekends, they should close for two weekdays instead, that was disappointing. One nice highlight is the showers and bathrooms. They have AC and are set up well for use.

It is a nice campground. Our site was level and had plenty of grass in front but cannot have a pen. There were several other campers who didn’t follow the leash rule one charged my dogs. Was constantly picking up other dogs messes at my site. No dog park to allow for dogs to burn off energy off leash either so I wouldn’t exactly call them dog friendly. There’s a dog park down the street but you have to be a member to use it. Other than that it’s a quiet spot except for fireworks. But they cannot control them. It would’ve been nice to know ahead of time that there was to be a big fireworks show, wouldn’t have stayed there for it.

Edit the fireworks show was fine but there are people with PTSD that can get triggered by them. It would have been nice to know ahead of time to prevent this.

I know the policy was no pens. I was pointing out that there is no place for dogs to exercise off leash and that it would have been nice to be able to allow them the freedom of a pen.

The campground advertised that the pool and bounce pillow would be open during our stay. However, when we arrived at 5:30 p.m. on a Thursday, both attractions were already closed. This was disappointing, especially since these amenities were a major reason for choosing this campground. If certain attractions have limited hours, that information should be clearly communicated rather than advertised as available. Accurate advertising helps set proper expectations and avoids negative experiences for guests.
Furthermore, the bathrooms were exceptionally clean and campsite was nice.

Campground is clean. No shaded areas. Water is good. I have Verizon cell service and it's non existent in the campground. We had to use our Starlink internet for phone calls and phone texts or internet. It works till the entrance but from around the office back, never worked. They have listed on their website that they stay open in winter for workers and was confirmed on phone conservation prior to reservation. However, the owner decided since it was only a few people staying they were going to close for winter. This was a huge inconvenience in the middle of working to find another place and move. Sue and her husband used to be the host but quit that winter. She was absolutely fantastic! The owner however is not a people person and doesn't know how to run an office or campground. We left the first of the month and she charged us till the middle of the month. The money was refunded eventually. I also didn't like the weeks proceeding and following 4th of July, people were shooting fireworks all hours of the night. The ones in the cabins were over us and we had fireworks trash and marks all over our roof. They were actually going off on our roof. Across the rows, others were shooting fireworks off the ground and into the sky. All around campers with propane tanks hooked on the front of their trailers. July was a rough month for my family and my fur babies. Wouldn't recommend if you are going for work or you like your nights quiet. The spots are gravel with a couple concrete pads. They also have full hook-ups and wifi but the wifi didn't work well at all.
