What Guests Are Saying
Tailwater West Campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and beautiful surroundings, making it a favorite spot for many campers. The campground offers spacious sites, full hookups, and convenient access to fishing and nearby attractions, contributing to enjoyable stays. Some concerns were raised about noise from fellow campers and check-in confusion, but overall, visitors expressed a strong desire to return and appreciated the friendly staff and peaceful atmosphere.

Tailwater West was a great campground. We only stayed for 2 night, but I wish we had a longer stay. Great things to do in the area and lots of wildlife. Sites were large, with electric and water hookups. Very clean campground.

Great location and facilities. Locating check-in at the adjacent campground was a bit of a challenge but that’s it. Clean bathrooms and showers. Really a great campground. A slight negative. Absolutely zero cell service with T mobile

2nd time in a month that we were at a Coralville reservoir campground and the fire pits weren’t cleaned and this time it was half full of ash. Never heard back from the campground after my last review so I’m guessing they don’t care about their customers. My other issue is that we camp at three different Corps campgrounds, Coralville, Shady Creek and Clark’s Landing. All three are different when it comes to checking in. If you miss speaking to the host at Shady or Clark’s, they do a drive by in their cart and check you off as there. At Coralville they do a drive by and leave a note telling you to check in. Would be easy for Coralville to do the same.

We love this campground because the sites are paved and the one we had was direct water/sewer hookup. Clean and close to fishing. Great for our grandkids.
