We had a great experience at Cherry Glen. We were with a group and we were able to reserve sites close to each other. The sites were partially shaded, level and roomy. The park is far enough away from town to feel like you're away in the country, but close enough to amenities to be convenient. The biking/hiking trail goes right past the park.

Overall good. The campsites are pretty close together and not all of the restrooms have showers. Now knowing this, I may choose a different campground. Everybody seemed to be respectful of the curfew minus a group of jr high kids playing on the park. They were pretty foul but after that got taken care of, all seemed to be okay.

Very nice campground and well maintained. Sites were spaced apart and sense of privacy. There was an awesome biking trail accessible from the campground which I highly recommend. I do t think you would be disappointed with this ACOE campground.

Cherry Glen Campground is a COE campground is located near Lake Saylorville (for water activities), the Neal Smith trail (for hiking and biking) and shopping in the Ankeny/Des Moines area.
Most of the camp sites are shaded and well maintained.
We camp 90 -120 days every summer and consider the COE Campgrounds to be the most reasonably priced of any campground that we stay at.

We were very pleased with our stay at Cherry Glen! We had a lot going on that week…three graduation parties, a big family barbecue in Polk City, a grandson’s baseball game in Johnston, and formal family pictures to be taken. Cherry Glen was very centrally located for all of our activities…and the campground was great!!!

I loved the fact that we did not have to enter the building to register and get a tag for our site. The process was very simple and we enjoyed our weekend.
