Excellent campgrounds very well kept and clean. The only problem is a few individuals have locked up all the weekends so it gets to the point where there's only a few week days that are open through out the summer. It would be nice to be able to have a full week without having to book it back in January. Very unfair for travelers that comes through and want to spend a full week in your beautiful campgrounds. But we all no you're in it for the money and we are the ones that have to suffer for it. Other than the politics you have a beautiful Campground. Have a great day!!

Campsite was clean and well maintained. Camp hosts were very friendly and made the rounds of campground every day.
Nearby is a beach that you can swim or launch a boat. The Des Moines bike trail connects at the campground entrance.
Restrooms and showers were kept clean.

The sites were good sized, and not to close to eachother. There is no water hook ups in the sites, but they have 15 amp, 30 amp, and 50 amp electrical hook ups. There are multiple bathhouse but only one shower house. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The shower is free, but it is just a push button. There is no temperature controls for the showers. I did have to push the button a few times before I got warm water.

Very quiet calm and clean campground. Raccoons did show up.and open a container and I had to scold them off. They are common in the area. I kept bear spray handy, just in case. Do not.leave any for.or non food containers out for them to explore. They weren't aggressive though and left as soon. As I shooed them. I was in a tent and they did not bother me there.
Nice view of the lake and pretty wildflowers and thank you Jesus, quite a few American flags flying from older vets and others. People were friendly.

Location 11 was a weed patch on a decline. Then about 4 inches of rain in two hours washed out many campsites. I would be much happier with a concrete pad.. it was a tough one but I'm just learning.
