It did not start out auspiciously but ended well. Our original reservation was for Aster 3 however after spending over an hour trying to level our 38' motorhome we called the office to let them know we could not stay in that spot, knowing they were completely booked. It would have left our front wheels over 6" off the ground which is not a safe situation. They had an "emergency" space in Dogbane which worked great and we enjoyed the rest of our stay carefree.

The stay was very enjoyable and we like the large shaded lot. The campground staff were very friendly and helpful. The campgrounds is always clean and well maintained.

There should be another dump station at Prairie Flower. The wait times are excessive.

We always enjoy our time at Prairie Flower....clean restrooms, mowed nicely, good distance between campers.

The online map in A loop doesn’t match the sites. That resulted in an inconvenient situation. Otherwise it is a nice campground.

From I-35, take exit 90 to Ankeny/Oralabor Road and go west for 4.8 miles. The road turns into Highway 415, continue and follow signs to the campground.
Prairie Flower Recreation Area is accessible via Iowa State Highway 415, which is approximately 5 miles to the east. Interstate 80 is about 20 miles to the north.
