Love having the Neal Smith Trail in the park. The campsites are spacious and clean. We were so impressed with our first experience at Prairie Flower Campground that we made reservations for two weeks later.

I camped with young children. We stayed in sight A24 which meant a playground was right behind our site. The roads were nicely paved, and the kids loved biking around the loop. The sunsets over Saylorville lake were epic. Next time I will probably get a site in the C loop so that we have a water view from our campsite.

We went tent camping. Our spots did not have a lot of grass area to camp in and would work much better for RVs. Our spots were also very close to a highway which we did not know in advance. The Prairie Flower campground was great, but I recommend avoiding spots H180, H182, H184, H185 if you will be in a tent.

The only issue is at the dump station. There should be a dump station for the opposite side. Too many campers that don't have a clue about what they are doing or that are overly particular about rinsing their tanks and take way too long.
