Prairie flower is alway such a quiet relaxing camp area.
Pads are nicely spaced to give everyone a little privacy while having all the amenities needed for an enjoyable experience.
Campground is always very quiet overnights and most campers are quite friendly and respectful.
Easy access to walking/biking trails and several beaches adorn the shore of the impoundment.

We always enjoy our stays at Prairie Flower recreational area. Sites are well spaced and plenty long enough for both our 34’ travel trailer and tow vehicle. There are also plenty of water spigots placed throughout the campground if you don’t have time to fill your fresh water tank at the dump station.

Prairie Flower is always one of our favorite Saylorville campsites. Good facilities and never overly crowded in Prairie Flower.

It would be nice if all of the sites were paved. With some full hook up sites. The grass areas need to be mowed more often. The areas of WEEDS need to also mowed, there are people with allergies that can't come out here because of the weeds. The mowing needs to go back like it was 5 to 6 years ago. Just cause it's called Prairie Flower Campground that doesn't mean people want to be around a bunch of weeds!

Getting There
From I-35, take exit 90 to Ankeny/Oralabor Road and go west for 4.8 mi. The road turns into Highway 415, continue and follow signs to the campground.
Highway access
Prairie Flower Recreation Area is accessible via Iowa State Highway 415, which is approximately 5 miles to the east. Interstate 80 is about 20 miles to the north.
