The Corps of Engineers campground, Prairie Flower, is a well maintained. We appreciate the clean showers. We also like the location, close to Polk City, Iowa.
The blacktops going into the campground loops need to be repaired. The cracks in the blacktops are automatic speed bumps! The cracks, often repaired with tar, leave a bumps that will jar your bike and body to the point of walking your bike.
The blacktop cracks are the only reason I gave the campground a 4 star rating.

We stayed one night and found the campground is well maintained. Spots are paved and large. Not all are level so bring leveling blocks. We didn't use the shower house. The dump station had multiple spots so no waiting. The roads in and out are wide and corners are easy to navigate. Overall, we thought it was a very nice campground and would stay again.

This park used to be well kept but now it’s hardly ever mowed. Trees aren’t trimmed and lawn is not trimmed. I have seen people bring their own lawn trimmers to clean their site up. Fire pits are not cleaned unless we call. Also there are numerous dogs not on leash. If my dog gets injured or killed I will sue the campground.

A little disappointed that no one was in the registration booth when we arrived, even though it was during the posted hours of operation. Seems a little awkward to have to circle around in order to fill with water at arrival, then circle back to head towards the campsites. Also, I was told a water hydrant was about 25 ft away from site #9. However, it took 115 ft of hose to reach it.
