The grounds and the care to the park is amazing!
HOWEVER do NOT assume this is dog friendly…
At all. I had been there for 3 full days when a volunteer and his wife told me my dogs couldn’t bark. The are (2 in particular) highly reactive dogs. They didn’t like that they got barked at and then came back to me and told me that they’d had complaints(obviously false) or they would have been out sooner than 3 days. Told me kids wouldn’t ride past on their bikes. Even my service dog was barking at them, as they were hostile(especially his wife). Given this was mid week, I was leaving less than 48 hours later. Chastised me and left in their golf cart, never came back. Very very unwelcoming considering for 3 days they didn’t even know I was there.
The workers and maintenance guys met were wonderful and met my dogs with zero issues.
I will absolutely be addressing this with the DOD and the district Lieutenant.

The site we had in the Honeysuckle loop was (literally) about 25 ft away from a busy highway. At times the traffic was loud enough on Friday evening that we had to nearly yell at each other to hear. Other than that, it was great.

Campground is great. Wasn’t as happy with our choice of sites in the H area. Quite a bit of road noise from the adjacent HWY 415.

Showers great, warm clean and well stocked. Grounds very clean. Enjoy the space between campers. Enjoyed space riding bike around entire campgrounds and down to lake.

We had a family gathering with children at Blazingstar 32. Level site, large concrete pad, excellent playground near the site. The level site was critical as our leveling system went out when we arrived and being level was necessary for the use of our fridge. We were originally in Aster and making the change through Recreation.gov was amazingly easy. B 32 was right across from the entrance and near the parking lot, so perfect for our gathering! I always enjoy our stays at Saylorville Reservoir, we travel in a 38" DP.
