Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Monticello

We’ve been coming for year and make the long drive because we love it. This year was a bit different. From check in through out the stay there were several disappointments. The grounds and facility are pretty run down compared to the past. Weeds are overgrown, the beach is rough, laundry machines had to be ran several times. Not a huge deal but the price you pay, you’d love to see some money be put back into the place. The wibit had several deflated parts, staff didn’t pay attention when giving the life jackets, they gave adult life jackets to young kids and they acted irritated when asked for a better fitting one. The guy working in the concessions was extremely rude when another customer simply asked if there were two lines or one. The customer was actually very polite and asked just to know where he needed to be because it appears there was two lines. It’s super sad to see how staff interacted with customers this year. I understand people are probably not always kind which is why Grace is being given but it’s very sad to see the customer pace head to down a bad road. We would love to see it go back to being what it was and to see all that it can be. It’s such a fun place and we love it, we will keep supporting but hope this was just a bad weekend for Jellystone and not the new normal.

We came with a huge group celebrating my grandpa's birthday. We had 6 RV sites and 4 cabins, all in the same area. We loved our spots right across from the lake, perfect for the kiddos to go fishing. RV sites are deep to have some space and the cabins are nice. Renting a golf cart is a plus, especially if you don't use your camper shower. We enjoyed the river access beach, it was quiet and no people there unlike the pool or where the inflatable thing was which was perfect for us since we don't have kids. All of the staff we're friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the bathrooms needs to be cleaned every day. They are not pleasant to use.

We recently stayed here while attending an event in the area.

As experienced RV travelers who have stayed at many private campgrounds and resorts over the years, we were very disappointed with our experience.

One of our biggest challenges was the campsite itself. The sites are almost all grass, and with our 34-foot fifth wheel there was very little room between the water hookup and the concrete pad to maneuver without worrying about hitting something. Backing into the site was much more difficult than it needed to be. At many privately owned campgrounds we’ve visited, staff escort larger rigs to their sites or help guide them into tight spaces. Given the layout of our site, that assistance would have been appreciated.

The campground also felt like it could use more overall maintenance. Most of the sites near the entrance were permanent and appeared extremely cluttered and unkempt, which unfortunately created a poor first impression as we drove into the park. Throughout the campground there were several areas that looked like they could benefit from more regular upkeep.

The fishing pond looked neglected, with piles of dead trees pushed into the water and a broken volleyball net still standing in the pond.

Around the Wibit and beach area, the shoreline could also use some definite attention. There were many sharp rocks on both the beach and in the water, making it uncomfortable to enter barefoot. Several sections of the Wibit also appeared to be partially deflated, which seemed to make it more difficult for the kids using it and could benefit from being properly inflated.

I appreciate that they hire local young people for summer jobs, but during our stay there seemed to be very little visible adult supervision, and several areas of the campground reflected a lack of regular attention in that area.

This campground may work well for some families, especially if it’s the only option in the area, but based on our experience it did not reflect the quality suggested by many of the older five-star reviews.

I hope management invests in maintenance and improvements because it has the potential to be a much nicer destination.

We Love Jellystone campgrounds! The campsite was nice(the map and the sites actually dont align) but we enjoyed our site! The pool was very nice! The General store had lots of options for souvenirs! The ice cream was yummy!

We picked this place because of the wibits course and the beach. The beaches were un-usable. That was very disappointing! The "beach" to get out to the wibits was terrible-full of rocks. The actual beach was not taken care of at all. No way to lay out or wade in the water there. For the wibits, disappointing how overcrowded it gets with day passes for non campers.

There are many areas/campsites that could use some clean up...the weeds. And the roads could use some grading, the pot holes were terrible and they were everywhere.

The workers were all very friendly! The activites are always enjoyable, especially Candy Bar Bingo!
Overall, it was a fun experience with our family. But some things would need to improve for me to provide a higher rating.

let me first start off by saying, start inflating the wibit more please and thank you and add the other things back it’s boring now and everyone knows it. I was very disappointed with my experience at this campground. During my stay, I was accused of behavior that I did not engage in. Despite trying to explain the situation, I felt that my side of the story was not fully considered before conclusions were made. Being blamed for something that never happened was frustrating and took away from what could have been an enjoyable trip. I hope the campground improves its process for handling complaints and investigates situations more thoroughly before accusing guests and i am talking about julie she accuses me of stuff just because i camped there and i was bad maybe 3 time, she said “if it happens again your gone forever” id like it if you heard my story but no she just drove off.
