Our trailer sat 40 feet from a busy railroad. Now I love trains, the roar of the engine and the the whine of the wheels on he track. But the train horn blasting at the crossings at each end of the campground was more than we could handle. And it scared the hell out of the dog.
We spent one night then left.
As for the campground itself, it’s typical of ACOE. Site are level showers clean and the water hot. Play ground for the kids and a boat ramp for dad. This section of the Mississippi runs east-west so we had a great sun rise and sunset.
Minus the train horn it would have been a perfect stay.
I would recommend getting a site near the river and as far from the railroad as possible.

This was a great place at a great price. We were fortunate enough to get a site right on the river. The campground was quiet at night and the neighbors friendly. The trains running past on some nights might have been a problem for some people, but we acclimated to it quickly. Not a problem.
One additional point, the restroom/showers were immaculate! Added much to the comfort of our visit, since we only had electrical hookup, but because of the showers, electrical was all we needed.
When we come by again, we will make this a for sure stop.
