Shady Creek is a well-maintained campground along the Mississippi River, offering spacious, level concrete sites and a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and scenic views, as well as the proximity to local attractions like Wildcat Den State Park. While some noted issues with bathroom maintenance and nearby train noise, the overall experience is positive, making it a favored spot for short getaways.

The campground is very well kept and restrooms clean and in good working order.
Person doing the mowing was very considerate and waited until we were gone before mowing around our camper.
The hosts were so friendly and kind and recognized us from previous visits. The volunteer was friendly as well.
Love this campground with its great views of activity on the Mississippi River.
Have to learn to live with the trains passing several times per day!

We camped at site 13 along the river, mostly shady throughout the day minus a few hours in the afternoon. Lots of transportation commerce both in rail and barge traffic to keep things interesting. The shower house was adequate although it’s in need of in update.
