What Guests Are Saying
Shady Creek is a well-maintained campground with clean facilities and friendly staff, offering beautiful views of the Mississippi River and spacious, level cement sites. The park is family-friendly and has a pleasant atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and outdoor activities. While some noise from trains and highways is noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

We were fortunate to get a "front row spot" facing the river on site 34; only problem was that BRIGHT Yard Light by the RR Building that basically destroys any chance of genuine campfire ambience for Both sites 33 and 34. The Corps of Engineers really needs to come up with a solution to Correct THAT situation. We were pleased to be able to gather some downed limbs and twigs for several pleasant (in spite of the yard light) campfires most every night and one of the cooler mornings as well. We appreciated the sound deadening effect of the "North Woods" making the passing trains much MUCH less of a distraction (than Clark's Ferry, for example). The host was very Kind and HELPFUL in answering any questions that we had.

Great people and a nice location for paddlers going down the Mississippi. Coordinate in advance but they are excellent hosts
