Shady Creek is a well-maintained campground along the Mississippi River, offering spacious, level concrete sites and a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and scenic views, as well as the proximity to local attractions like Wildcat Den State Park. While some noted issues with bathroom maintenance and nearby train noise, the overall experience is positive, making it a favored spot for short getaways.

Place is real nice- The camp host attendants are really nice people- The only issue is the boat dock needs to be dredged - This has been a on- going issue at this site - Pls pass on to whom this needs to be sent to.

Barking dogs was a big problem. One camper near us had six dogs that all barked numerous times per day.

Electric sites with water spigots spread out. All back in sites. Hard to get back in without going off paved road. Can be a mud hole when it rains. Nice shower and restroom sites. Hosts are great. Boat ramp available. Lighthouse bar and restaurant right down the road. Lots of trees. Wood for sale. Can accept most any size rig at all sites. Cement pad with gravel patio and picnic table. Dump station on the way out. Next to train tracks. Nice view of barge traffic on the Mighty Mississippi. Must reserve on recreation.com
