Shady Creek is a well-maintained campground along the Mississippi River, offering spacious, level concrete sites and a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and scenic views, as well as the proximity to local attractions like Wildcat Den State Park. While some noted issues with bathroom maintenance and nearby train noise, the overall experience is positive, making it a favored spot for short getaways.

Beautiful park right on the Mississippi. Quiet and very well maintained, So peaceful and relaxing to sit in our camp site and watch the barges and river traffic go by. Sites were level and the cement pads spacious. Many large trees so no problem finding shade. The bathroom and shower facilities could use an update, but were clean. Nice dog park area with trash cans available. Very friendly staff. Located between Muscatine Ia. and Davenport IA, so lots to explore if you feel like leaving the campground.

The campsites are reasonably spaced and angled nicely, and are level. We enjoyed watching activity on the river, including many birds. But wherever we walked in the campground, several mis-directed "glare bombs" prevented being able to enjoy the night sky. And the lighted pedestals are a nuisance that cannot be avoided - there is no reason for all that invasive light. We are glad we had enough light-blocking coverings for all of our windows. Trains run nearby but we did not notice them at night. Fill your fresh tank on the way in, campers stayed connected to some of the spigots in the campground as if they were solely for their use.
